The Club 249

Ok, I see myself as a very nice young lady with something going for herself. Single, no children, work Full-Time, and also in school. So why am I single? Why do men just want the "jump off" women and look past quality? Someone please tell me...... I'm sick of being single.... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there aint no problem...just not your time ...."all things for a reason and in its season" is my motto. I am 44 years old. I was 43 when I met my husband & hadnt been in a long term anything ever. That gemini temperment girl..makes ya flighty..lol. This party girl who was known for slinging back the Bacardi 151...dancing til dawn....Having numerous male friends (aint no shame in my game) & doing like I wanted when I wanted...got swept off my feet by a brother from the motherland. I swore I would never date an african before him. I had pretty much given up on the marriage thing. Shoot, I was actually starting to enjoy my peace about it. But I used to get sick alot...I am diabetic and have these issues that would land me in urgent care all the time. No one knew...but I almost wrecked my car trying to get myself to the doctors...and I believe God heard my pitiful self one day & said my chile needs help. And it was time. Now, I am happily married. So, all I can say is wait on God...and enjoy your singleness while you waiting. Don't be anxious...just be ready. Cuz despite popular opinion...married life is harder work than anything you ever tried to do before other than raise kids. But it comes with the greatest rewards too. Don't worry...your time is coming.

Sister K, I agree with you 100%. I had also dated extensively over the past 16 years, after divorcing my first African-American husband. I had not ever considered marrying again, because as you stated in your post, having a successful marriage is very hard work, filled with compromises and sacrifices. In early 2006, my mother, and a very close friend of mine, prayed that I would find someone to marry someday. I thanked them for their prayers, however, I took it with a grain of salt. I figured if it happened, it happened... if it did not, it just did not. So at the age of 44, I also met my current African husband, and we got married exactly six months after we met. We will be celebrating our third year anniversary next month (November 2009). Kelly C, as Sister K and Bubbles stated, just be patient and wait on the Lord, for he hears the desires of your heart.

I agree with Sista K, be patient and wait on God. I'm not married, but I am with the man I plan to marry. LOL I didn't meet him til I was done dating and being "Whooo, dating is fun.Whoo!" girl and sat down and prayed and asked God to send me the man I'm supposed to marry because I'm ready for one person to love and to love me too. I prayed that prayer Jan 2008. I met him on October 4th 2008. God worked faster than I thought he was.LOL

But really, be patient. I'm the most impatient person but it worked for me. AND go on blind dates. That's how I met him and that was my first ever blind date.LOL

I must give everybody a high 5 yall did that LOL! You must be in the will of God 1st! But most of all we have to change what you do, the places you go to, and who you allow in our life! Take more time to find out what you like and dont like! Most of all stay busy! Lets start getting together for the single ladies and have a night where we check out different spots, to open ourselves up to different social scenes! Anybody game let me know!

PHILIPPIANS 4:6
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Hi Trice.........let me introduce myself (I'm Zahria!) : ) I feel what you and Kelly are saying and I am also in need of a couple of new and true girlfriends. Although this recession got me by the coattail a lil bit and I can't do much spending, I am interested in being notified of 'Girlfriend Outtings!'.

Holla Back!

Hello Zahria, it's so nice to meet you. I now reside close Macon, GA, and I truly miss being able to attend one of the Club 249 events. I seldom missed a Club 249 party, when I lived in the Atlanta area. However, since I noticed that both of our names begin with the letter "Z", I will hereby give you the authority to represent me, when you attend the Club 249 events. Okay? lol lol
